This evening as I was driving home from my brother's I saw at least three minivans that had TVs playing in the back for the kids. It keeps the kids entertained, but it seems kind of strange to me.
When we took long trips when I was young, since I rarely slept or read while on the road, I would stare out the windows to see what was going on around us. It was also the perfect opportunity to let my imagination run riot. I wasn't bored by a long shot; rather, I entertained myself...when I wasn't purposefully annoying my older brother or sisters. I wonder if I were a kid today if I could even sit still for long stretches of time. I'd probably go nuts.

In an update on my music experiment, so far Billy Joel and Elton John are tied for the lead. It may take longer than two weeks to run this experiment, because I've not been in the car long enough this past week. I'll keep cracking.
