I'm going to start an experiment.
Every time I'm driving somewhere for up to a 15-minute stretch or more, I'm going to see which musician plays the most often.
So, the parameters:
* Any drive I take, I will track if I hear any song from the following list of musicians within a 15 minute period. If the drive has no real end point, I'll only track one 15-minute period. If the trip has a definite point A and point B, I will track a 15-minute period in each direction.
* The artists are Billy Joel, Elton John, James Taylor, Rod Stewart, and Michael Jackson (including work with the Jackson 5)
* I will begin tracking on Sunday, January 24, for a two-week time frame.
I want to measure what chance there is to hear a song from one of this folks during arbitrary drive times and channel surfing. Also, I want to see who of the five gets a higher percentage.
The winner from these five musicians gets nothing except play royalties. The listener, however, gets a large order of french fries.
Let the games begin!
I'm adding John Mellencamp to the list, too.
