I had a whole bunch of important meetings today where I had to act against my natural tendencies in some respects, so I was kind of stressed about them.
After they were finished, I had a couple of thoughts. Why worry?
Worrying about some day in the future, and the converse of looking forward to a day with great excitement, doesn't really make sense.
Things usually aren't as bad as they seem, so things rarely turn out as stressful as we imagine. Also, things are rarely as exciting as we make them out to be, leading us to be underwhelmed. All told, the day passes regardless of whether we are hugely stressed or very excited; meetings end, but so the fun times.
I guess it might be most effective to approach the next day with a level head and an even keel. Doing so allows us to enjoy what we can enjoy and absorb the bumps. Our brains take care of the rest.
