Travel goals 2011

I've got a rather serious travel bug, so this year I aim to hop in planes, trains, and automobiles whenever I get the chance to explore new places.

I wanted to jot down now at the beginning of the year places I intend to visit this year.
1) Memphis, TN and New Orleans, LA. I've been to New Orleans before, but that was only for a quick weekend in 09 to get a taste, and I've wanted to go back. I've never been to Memphis, and I've wanted to go there to explore all the music stuff. I plan on getting my music geek on! Sun Records, Beale St., Graceland, the Stax Records Museum. It'll be a packed few days!

2) Maine, for my niece's high school graduation. I plan to make this an extended road trip through New England if possible, perhaps through New Hampshire, but I might end up driving along with family.

3) Europe. I'd like to do this in August or September, but that's depending on schedules. I'll start off in Switzerland, but I'd like to go from Spain to France along the Mediterranean. So many places to see, and I think I have to schedule some time for a visit to Salzburg and Sicily, as I'm due in those places to visit friends and family. All over the map for that one.

Those are the ones I have tentative plans for at least to do this year. Hopefully, they'll all come through. This list has quite a variety of stops, but it's not even scratching the surface of places I want to go. Cursed wanderlust.
