The weekend was pretty full.
When I learned that my brother was moving to New Jersey, going to the car show in somerville was one of the things that I imagines we'd be able to do together. So, i was happy that we were able to work it out. We all met at Chris's work and then drove downtown. The weather on this friday, for the first time, was good, so there was a pretty strong showing of classic cars. I think they were all surprised at how many cars actually showed up for this thing. We did a nice tour, and Chris and I slobbered over some immaculate SS Camaro convertibles. They also had a mustang cobra gt500 with chrome that you can see your reflection. I think the kids enjoyed it for the most part, but I don't know if they quite have the car bug just yet. I guess this means that I'll have to get to work on them.
On Saturday, I took an early train into to city to meet up with the padre. The heat in the city was just nuts .. I only walked 5 blocks and i was already sweaty. I met up with him at the new hotel, and man, is that place swanky! I guess it would have to be considering where it is. We grabbed a quick bite at a mexican place and proceeded to eat too much. We also met up with some family friends, and then later walked down Bloomingdales and further still to 57 and 8th. As is a necessity with any trip to NY, we grabbed slices of pizza on the way home.
I left there really early this morning to ensure that I could be at work on time. F.C.G. and I still haven't spoken and it;s been three weeks since i asked her. I don't have any hard feelings, so I'd like to be at least friendly. However, I get a vibe from her that's not the least bit welcoming(it seems to me she tries not to be where i am, as well) so I'm not inclined to break through it. I guess I should take the initiative and do that, but honestly, I don't know how much I really care. I feel pretty good about myself at the moment, and I might want to spend my time and energy elsewhere.
You know, I actually have more to say on the hotel, and the fact that my parents get to stay in a place right across from the Met, but I'm a bit sleepy, so maybe later.
