After a great deal of not hard work, I think we may have finally killed the trucker-hat-as hipster symbol, only to be replaced by the hoodie. Everyone seems to have one. I happened to catch joan of arcadia last week, and the "artistic" character wore a different one every scene.
Just check out the Neighborhoodies site. Take a look. They are so pretentiously hipster, it's painful. I get the same type of feeling from them as when I listen to the Archies sing "Sugar, Sugar."I can feel my teeth decay just thinking about it.
Granted, at the least, I can see the use of this trend. It's warm, it's got pockets, and it has a built in hat. Plus, if you get one, you get to be cool for five minutes.
