A few days ago, the 2000th US soldier died in Iraq, and yesterday was a day of rememberance for them. The fact that even one US soldier had to die over there pisses me off, because this whole excursion was solely based on conjecture, half-truths, and outright lies.
However, I passed by a protest against the war yesterday in Princeton, and I saw on the news that quite a few happened in NYC, too. That kind of set me off, cuz those protests just seemed disingenuous and phony. First, don't even bother showing up if you weren't protesting two years ago. Second, it would be disastrous for us to leave now, considering the tenuous state of Iraq and especially considering what those freaks in Iran said yesterday: Iran Leader Calls for Israel's Destruction
Where does this leave me, a liberal dude who thought it was stupid to enter Iraq yet now thinks it's stupid to leave? Is it just as shortsighted to say "We have to leave now" than it is to say "Let's go liberate Iraq because they definetly have weapons of mass destruction."?
Mikey confused.
