Four Seasons

There are a few movies that stick out in my memory from when I was a kid growing up in Chapel Hill in the early 80s. Can't know why, but they do.
One of them was the movie The Four Seasons, starring Alan Alda, who also wrote and directed it. It's about a group of well-to-do friends who go on vacations together and how they deal with it when of the friends divorces and finds someone knew. Kinda self-indulgent and definetly from the 80s, but that's what I see when I look back on it now. Back then I must have loved the Mercedes, the boat, and the beautiful, and beautifully filmed, scenery.
However, I have just proven to myself that I am more of a car dork than I ever thought possible. It seems as though there is a continuity error concerning the car they drive up when they visit their children in college. In one scene, they drive the big Merc sedan that was available at the time, either a 300 or 450. In the very next scene, when they drive up to the campus, they're driving the smaller Merc that was available at the time, a 240.
I thought my eyes my be deceiving me, so I did the slo-mo thing on the DVD player, and sure enough, two different Mercedes.
