Chaka

I'm not as interested in this season's American Idol as I was last season's. No one has really interested me. At least some of the performances aren't too bad.
I've discovered that I do have a problem with people attempting to sing songs made popular by Aretha Franklin, as Katherine McPhee did tonight with "Think."
It was a good performance with not a bad note to be heard. However, it just seemed to lack any soul. It was dull compared to what Aretha put down on tape.
I guess I would feel the same if a dude tried to do an Otis Redding song.
Now, Mandisa rocked. She totally owned that Chaka Khan song, to the point where I didn't think that Chaka Khan once did it. Also, the band wasn't able to drown her out. She had the complete attention of the audience.
