Another foray into the mundane:
I think it has been fairly well established that I am woefully indecisive. Let's keep that in mind...
I went into the grocery store today to do what should have been a quick errand: pick up breakfast cereal and some milk. Before I get into the shock I felt at the sheer amount of different cereals available, let me preface it by saying I've done this errand at the local Target for years, which has thankfully kept the choice to a minimum and made it relatively easy for me.
Oh my God. The cereal aisle at the grocery store is about three times as long as the one in Target, and it's filled with so many different choices that I couldn't even wrap my head around it. Chocolate and Vanilla Rice Krispies? Cookie Crisp (I love cookies)? Eggo Waffle cereal?
When the -ef did they start making Eggo Waffle cereal?! I love waffles!
Also, it seems as though the freeze-dried fruit thing has really taken off lately. You know, if you go down a few aisles, they've got this whole big section where they have fresh fruit. Just an FYI. It must be a sad realization for freeze-dried fruit (if they can realize anything, and sadly, at that) that it is just rejected fresh fruit...
I digress.
Anyway, I got stuck in that stupid aisle for at least 15 minutes trying to find something that would not give me sugar highs, could keep me from snacking before lunch, and did not contain fiber "twigs." A cereal actually made it a point to mention it contained fiber twigs. What an incredibly odd choice of wording.
I eventually got Wheaties, and one could make a pretty good case that I got that only because they had the Gators on the box for winning the BBall championship a few months ago.
