I've been thinking about setting up a wireless network in my apartment, but the reviews I've read for the router I like (and works with the Mac) don't give me a whole bunch of confidence.
The easiest solution for me would be to just get the Airport Extreme base station, but that costs about $100 dollars more than this thing, and it doesn't have a 4-port switch that I need to set up my roommate's computer. His computer doesn't have wireless capability, so I figured that the Netgear router would be the best option.
I was going to get the 108Mbps wireless/wired router, but that thing just got hammered in the reviews. It's also allows for faster connection speed. My Mac has 802.11g wireless capability for 54Mbps, but should I ever choose to upgrade, I'd already have the router for it.
I have to keep my eye on the sales at Best Buy and the like, and if I do see a good deal, I may try it. However, those reviews that say that the router loses wireless connectivity kinda sucks.
Ah, but wireless...That's at least two cables I can get rid of. Plus, I can go online on the balcony.
