Earth Day

I hear that President Bush is doing some trail work and other cleanup within Cades Cove, on the Townsend, TN side of the Great Smokey Moutain National Park-one of my favorite places in the country. While I find this commendable, I just wish he wasn't such an environmental hypocrite.

People who consider themselves environmentalists have had a pretty rough time of it lately when it comes to environmental legislation. ANWR, "Clear" skies, etc. However, we can still accomplish something if we think globally and act locally.
UPDATE: Bush Cancels Great Smoky Mountains Visit. My ambivalence toward him has been reinstated.
